Promotion links redirect to the event’s page address — the page on the organizer’s site where the event is presented. Set it in the Public page section first; see The event page. Without it, a short link answers “not found” and no embed snippet can be generated.
Create a link
1
Name the channel
Choose Create link and enter a name, such as “Spring mail-out”. A code is generated for the link automatically — short, uppercase, unique within the event. The rest is configured on the link’s page.
2
Add tags
Under Tags, fill in any of utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content. The list shows source / medium as the link’s Channel. Tags are passed through to the event page.
3
Bind a redemption code (optional)
Under Redemption code, choose one of the event’s codes from Offers & redemptions. Anyone arriving through the link has that code prefilled.
The short link
The Address card shows the link’s short address —https://pages.orriven.com/p/<public URL id>/<code> — with Copy link. Opening it counts one click and redirects to the event’s page address, carrying the link’s tracking parameter (?pl=<code>), its UTM tags, and the bound redemption code as ?code= when there is one.
Codes are unique per event, and the short address always names the event, so the same code on two events does not collide.
Embed
The Embed card generates a plain link snippet — a Register link to the event page with this link’s tracking parameter — with Copy snippet. Paste it into a site or a partner page. Sign-ups that start there are attributed to this link too. Nothing is hosted; the snippet points at the event page.Attribution
Attribution is last touch: whichever promotion link was present when the order was placed is credited. The credit is recorded on the order and on the registration it produces. The Performance card shows:- Clicks — how many times the short address was opened.
- Registrations and Confirmed — registrations attributed to the link, and how many of them are confirmed.
- Paid orders and Revenue — orders attributed to the link that were paid, and their total.
Archive
Archive retires a link: its short address answers “not found” from then on, the same as a link for an unpublished event. Everything already attributed to it stays on record, and Restore brings the address back. Links are never deleted.Rules to know
- A page address is required for the short link to redirect and for the snippet to exist.
- Codes are generated, uppercase, and unique per event.
- Last touch only. One link per registration. There is no multi-touch model and no per-click log.
- Clicks over-report; registrations and revenue are counted from records.
- A link never gates or discounts anything. Bind a redemption code for that.
- Archived links answer “not found” and keep their attribution.
- A bad tracking parameter never blocks a sale. Attribution is silent and best-effort.
