The Hotels page lists properties used for this event. Room blocks and stays both require a hotel and one of its room types.

Add a hotel

Create it

Choose Add hotel and name the property — “Hilton Kuala Lumpur”. Other details are set on the hotel page.

Set property details

Address, and the hotel time zone. The default follows the event. A hotel in another city can use its own time zone so stay nights are local nights.
External provider and external property ID are for hotels synced with an outside housing system. Leave them empty when the hotel is managed here.

Room types

A room type — Deluxe King, Twin — is the unit of inventory. Blocks contract counts of a room type per night. Stays reserve a room type, not a door number. Room types are created and edited on the hotel page:
  • Name — the name used in the contract.
  • Sleeps — how many guests one room takes. This is informational. It is not enforced. A stay’s guest list can differ.
Use the contract’s room-type names. The exported rooming list uses these names.

Archiving

Hotels and room types are archived, never deleted:
  • An archived hotel keeps its room blocks and stays and takes no new ones.
  • An archived room type takes no new blocks or stays. Existing ones keep their reference.
  • Restore brings either back into use.

Rules

  • Room types are created and edited only on the hotel page.
  • “Sleeps” is informational.
  • Archived hotels and room types keep existing blocks and stays and accept no new ones.
  • Housing records are not deleted.
  • Operations are recorded in the event audit log.
